Circa 1800 large rectangular tea caddy box, English. George III period. Mahogany. Interior with two hinged tea canisters & a sugar well. Nautilus shell inlaid top, paterae oval inlaid inner lid, the whole strung with ebony, satinwood & holly line inlays. Diamond escutcheon of bone. The staple repair to the sugar well shows the historic family value of this handsome box. Minor losses to stringing on a canister. Once with feet.
